About Our Land

Peaceful Village Raw Vegan Healing Community is a semi-private intentional community located in northern Amazon jungle of th place known as ecuador. The land is situated on more than 21 hectares on a series of small mountains between 400 and 450 m above sea level, thus it is relatively warm and humid most of the year, with the occasional coolness sometimes felt at night, early morning, and when it rains, and are able to enjoy most of our time walking naked and barefoot.
It is a very unique and sacred land with no cell towers around for a radius of 20+ km and electricity towers are at least 10 km away. We are growing more than 60 variety of plants, many fruit trees, but also keeping much of the original native forests intact.
We’ve already began exploring the land, the primary and secondary forests, enjoying three pristine Rivers with cascades that divide the land, Streams, swimming holes, one small waterfall, some unexplored caves, and with possibly some springs as well. The Rivers are rocky, not the sandy beach type Rivers, but nonetheless, are immensely enjoyable, with the waterfall about 30-minute walk from the small section of land we are living on that we call Tierra Libertad.
So far we have witnessed some of these nonhuman animals roaming on Tierra Libertad.
Different types of snakes including Boa Constructor, Terciopelo (Bothrops Asper) (called equis, letter X in ecuador), and some green snake we don’t know the name of, Lizards like Gold Tegu (Tupinambis Teguixin), Gecko Lizard, and others, Spiders like Tarantula, Brazilian Wandering Spider, Banana Spider, Daddy Long Legs, and another large spider that we have yet to identify, many different Caterpillars, Butterflies and Moths, a wide variety of birds like Turkey Vulture (Cathartes Aura), Black Vulture (Coragyps Atratus), White-necked Jacobin (Florisuga Mellivora) and other hummingbirds, a type of Toucan that is either one of these two species, Cuvier’s (White-throated) Toucan (Ramphastos Cuvieri) or Yellow-ridged (Channel-billed) Toucan (Ramphastos Culminatus), Lineated Woodpecker (Dryocopus Lineatus), Violaceous Jay (Cyanocorax Violaceus), Yellow-rumped Cacique (Cacicus Cela), rodents such as the Black Agouti (Dasyprocta Fuliginosa), Nine-banded (Common Long-nosed) Armadillo (Dasypus Novemcinctus), someone staying here saw a Southern Tamandua (Tamandua Tetradactyla), Bullet or Conga Ant, Praying Mantis and Stick Insects. Centipedes / Millipedes, Bats, many unknown insects and small critters, we haven’t seen Jaguars (Panthera Onca) but have heard their noises, seen their footprints in the River sand, and know from neighbors they are around the area, Puma (Cougar or Mountain Lion) (Puma Concolor) also are here, though we have yet to spot them, and other wild nonhuman animals we forgot to mention or we have yet to identify.
Despite the common beliefs of the Amazon jungle, here we haven’t seen Crocodiles, Piranhas, or Anacondas, so it is safe to enjoy, swim in and drink from the Rivers, though someone told us they saw a Coral Snake, but we can’t verify that.
